City of Refuge | Front Porch

Join us as we partner with City of Refuge to love and serve our neighbors in Oak Park—just minutes from our church. We’ll be cooking and serving up delicious tacos for residents of City of Refuge and anyone else who stops by the Front Porch.

This is more than just a meal—it’s a chance to show the love of Jesus in a practical way, meet new people, and encourage those in need right in our community. Come ready to serve, smile, and share hope through hospitality.

Community Groups

At Friends Church Sacramento, we believe church is more than a Sunday service, it’s a community where walk through life together.

Our groups are the heartbeat of our church. They’re where friendships are built, faith is stretched, and support is found in the ups and downs of everyday life. In groups, you’re not just attending church; you’re being the church; praying, growing, and serving side by side.

If you want to experience the fullness of what God is doing at Friends, don’t stop short by just coming on Sundays. Everyone needs a group, because life is better when it’s experienced together!

The Problem of Church

You don’t have to pretend you’ve never been hurt by church. You don’t have to act like you’ve never had doubts. What if church could be a place where you can be honest and still find hope?

In this series, we’ll deal honestly with the ways the church has sometimes gotten in the way of people experiencing Jesus. Because, we believe Jesus offers something far better. He met people in their mess, spoke truth with love, welcomed the outsider, and made space for the weary. This fall, let’s discover together how the church can reflect His heart again.
