Anchored | 1 Peter 4:1-11
What if I told you that—for millions of people—the most honest conversation they’ve had all week wasn’t with a person, but with a machine?
That was our starting point in this week’s message from 1 Peter 4. We talked about the rapid rise of AI and how it’s no longer just being used as a tool for trivia or productivity—it’s become a therapist, life coach, and identity guide for many. People are turning to chatbots to ask not just what they should do, but who they are.
It’s a cultural moment that exposes a deeper ache in the human soul: a longing for worth, identity, and direction.
But here’s the good news: You don’t need a machine to tell you what only your Creator can.
Following Jesus will sometimes mean walking away from the crowd and that can hurt. But it also frees you. You’re no longer defined by the shifting opinions of others. You’re defined by the One who never changes.
And when you live that way, anchored in His worth, you start to see God’s power flowing through your life.
Peter reminded his readers: Life is short. So pray hard. Love deeply. Serve with all you’ve got.
We’re not building a church of consumers—we’re becoming a Christ-centered community that’s changing the world. And that begins by letting God change us.
Your Worth Isn’t Earned—It’s Given
Whether you’re tempted to find your identity in social media, your career, a relationship, or even AI—the invitation today is the same:
Let God define your worth.
Because when He does, His power flows through your life.
Reflect & Respond
Where are you finding your worth?
Take a moment to reflect and pray:
“God, help me stop chasing worth in the wrong places. I give it to you. Define me by your truth.”
Let these scriptures remind you who you really are:
“I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” – Psalm 139:14
“We are God’s masterpiece.” – Ephesians 2:10
“You are a chosen people… God’s special possession.” – 1 Peter 2:9
“If anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17
Join us next week as we continue our Anchored series in 1 Peter 4:12–19 and talk about what to do when following Jesus gets hard.
