Overcoming Wounds
Finding Healing in the Midst of Pain
Pain is an inevitable part of life. Betrayal, disappointment, and hardship leave marks on our hearts, shaping how we see the world and how we trust others. But what if those wounds didn’t have to define us? What if God was using them to shape something greater?
Joseph’s Story: Waiting in the Dark
In Genesis 40, we find Joseph in a place no one wants to be—forgotten in prison. He had done nothing wrong, yet he suffered betrayal from his own family and was thrown into a situation completely out of his control. Even after helping others in prison, Joseph was still left waiting.
Does that sound familiar? Maybe you’ve experienced injustice. Maybe you’ve prayed for healing, for restoration, for hope—and it feels like God is silent.
Bitterness vs. Trust: Which Will You Choose?
Pain often leads us to a crossroads. We can allow it to make us bitter, fearful, and closed off, or we can bring our wounds to God and trust Him with them. Joseph could have chosen resentment, but instead, he held onto faith. He didn’t know when or how God would come through—he just knew that He would.
Where Is God in Your Pain?
God was working behind the scenes in Joseph’s life, preparing him for a greater purpose. The same is true for you. Healing doesn’t happen overnight, but it starts when we bring our wounds to God instead of burying them.
💭 Take a moment to reflect:
How have your wounds affected your relationship with God and others?
Has bitterness, fear, or self-protection taken root in your heart?
Where have you seen God show up in the midst of your pain?
