Who Is God? | Rooted
When life feels overwhelming, one of the deepest questions we ask is simple—but profound: Who is God?
Isaiah 40 was written to people who were exhausted, discouraged, and wondering if God was still with them. Their world felt out of control. Their strength was gone. And their faith felt fragile.
Sound familiar?
At Friends Church Sacramento, we believe this ancient passage speaks directly to modern life. Isaiah reminds us that God is not distant or detached. He is the everlasting Creator—eternal, powerful, and beyond anything we can imagine. And yet, He is also deeply personal and attentive to His people.
Isaiah 40 tells us that God does not grow tired or weary. His understanding cannot be measured. While human strength eventually fails, God offers renewed strength to those who place their hope in Him.
But Christianity doesn’t stop with knowing about God. Through Jesus, God made Himself known in a personal way. Jesus shows us who God is—full of grace, truth, compassion, and love. Through His life, death, and resurrection, we are invited into a real relationship with God, not based on performance, but on trust.
If you’re searching for a church near you in Sacramento—whether you’re full of faith, full of questions, or somewhere in between—you’re welcome at Friends Church. We’re a community committed to helping people grow deeper roots in their faith and experience God’s presence in everyday life.
